Alternatives To Hair Rebonding
Although hair rebonding is a great way to get silky straight hair, it also has some downsides. And understandably, not everyone is ready to deal with those, no matter how slim the chances are.
Are you one of those people? Here are three alternatives to hair rebonding that you may want to get smooth and silky locks but you don’t want to risk it!
Why do people rebond their hair?
There are many reasons why someone may want to rebond their hair. Some people have extremely thick, curly hair. You know, the kind of hair that Mia Thermopolis has on The Princess Diaries? Although gorgeous on its own, this kind of hair is often unmanageable and hard to style, which is why some people may prefer to get them straightened.
Other people may have unruly or frizzy hair that simply refuses to be tamed. Having frizzy hair is a good–or maybe not-so-good–way to look stressed and haggard so it's obvious that not a lot of people want to keep their hair that way.
Meanwhile, some people may already have straight hair, but it simply isn't straight enough. Or maybe they want to improve the texture. Maybe they want to make their hair softer, smoother, and easier to style. Hair rebonding can fix all these issues and more, making it no surprise that many people are opting for this treatment despite the costs and the possible risks.
Alternatives to Hair Rebonding
If you're only after the effects but you don't want to deal with the possible downsides of undergoing this chemical treatment, perhaps you'd like to check out these alternatives to hair rebonding.
Keratin treatment
Keratin hair treatments actually have almost exactly the same results as regular hair rebonding treatments. Your hair, as well as your skin and nails, consists mainly of keratin, a type of protein. Undergoing this treatment can tame frizzy hair and make hair much smoother and softer. These treatments are also generally more gentle than a typical hair rebond.
The biggest downside is that the effects are not as prominent as a hair rebond. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to enjoy its effects for at least a couple of months.
Hair smoothening
Hair smoothening is also a kind of hair treatment that aims to, as the name implies, make your hair smoother than ever. It's a lot similar to a keratin treatment, except keratin hair treatments use different chemicals. The chemicals in a hair smoothening treatment are still quite gentle though, especially when compared to all the chemicals used in hair rebonding.
But of course, just like keratin treatments, hair smoothening treatments also can't be expected to last more than just a few months. That’s the price that needs to be paid in exchange for less harsh chemicals.
Styling products
The easiest way to get lovely hair without going to the salon? Why, using styling products at home, of course. You can achieve pretty much the same effect using a flat iron , hairdryer , and some good hair products like serums and sprays. Obviously though, the effect is only temporary. As soon as you wash your hair, or well, go to sleep, it’s pretty much gone. For more hair articles, don’t forget to check out our ZALA blog!
