How to Blend Your Halo Hair Extensions into Different Styles
Halo extensions are a great way to add length and volume to your hair in minutes without a long-term commitment to extensions. A Halo comes as a large weft of hair pre-set with an invisible wire that securely holds it around your head like a tiara.
Halo extensions are suitable for those who have thin, fragile, or short hair. Halo hair extensions for very short hair work well, as their lightweight texture helps them blend easily with short hair. The weft won’t damage your natural hair because it doesn’t directly attach to your hair. Instead, it sits securely on your head.
But how to blend hair extensions? Well, it depends on the type of extension. When it comes to Halos, they’re pretty easy to install and blend with your natural hair.
Let’s look at how to blend your Halo extension into different styles.
How to Blend Halo Extensions
While Halo extension is an individual hairpiece, you can still play around with many different hairstyles, such as ponytails and side braids. The best part is that Halos are pretty easy to install. With a bit of practice, you can learn to apply the wefts in a few minutes.
Here’s how to pull your Halo extensions into different styles:
1. Double-Twisted Braid
Step 1: Apply two Halo wefts to your head, one on the right side and the other on the left side. This will add volume and length to your hair.
Step 2: Take two small portions of hair from both sides of your head and bend both sections towards the inside. Use hairpins to secure the hair segments at the rear of your head. Think of it as if you were creating a half-up hairstyle.
Step 3: Now segment the remaining hair into three portions and start braiding. Once the braid is complete, use an elastic band to secure the end of the braid.
Step 4: Next, add more volume to the braid by teasing the side and taking out some hair strands. Doing so will make the braid look fluffy and full. However, be careful to avoid going overboard with this step.
Step 5: Unwind a few feathery hair strands at the front to add a beautiful face frame, and you’re ready to rock an cute double-twisted braid.
2. Voluminous Half Braid
Step 1: Install two pieces of Halo extensions to your head as you normally would, but instead of applying them on the sides, install them at the back of your head (a few inches down from the crown area). Doing so will make your hair look fuller and luscious.
Step 2: Now, take half of your hair, twist it towards the rear, and start braiding. Avoid pulling very tight because your goal is to create a chic boho appearance instead of a tidy, smooth, or polished one. Tie an elastic band around the bottom of the braid.
Step 3: Carefully pull the braid’s knots outwards to make it look slightly undone — make sure not to undo the braids entirely. Use hairspray to give your boho half braid a lovely finishing touch.
3. Braided Crown
Step 1: You have to braid the Halo before applying it to your hair for this hairstyle. Take one Halo weft, split the hair into three portions, and start braiding to get a three-piece braid. Next, put an elastic band around the end of the braid while ensuring the band’s color matches your natural hair’s color. Tease the braid a bit, pulling hair strands here and there to give it a fuller, tousled look.
Step 2: Next, create a partition of your natural hair on the side of your head and apply the braided Halo to your head (around two inches above the level of your ears).
Step 3: Pull the braid to the other side of your head so it perches on the crown of your head like a headband.
Step 4: Use bobby pins to hold down the free end of the braid, and your beautiful, fuller braided crown hairstyle is ready.
