Heatless Waves Tutorial
If you're like us, as the holiday season comes to a close, and you find yourself back at school or work, you might be lacking some serious hair-spo. But don't let the daily grind get you down! We have brought you a super quick and easy heatless waves tutorial. Check out our three methods of getting waves without damaging heat, perfect for school, work or busy days!
Heatless Waves Tutorial
1. Try Buns!
This is a super easy way to get beautiful waves or curls without damaging your hair with heat. To get the look, simply follow the steps below:
- After washing your hair use a towel to semi-dry your hair.
- Apply ZALA's Revive Me Hair Treatment to your damp hair (this miracle product combats frizz and gives your hair a shine once dry).
- Allow your hair to air dry until it is about one third dry.
- Taking small sections, twist the hair and place into a bun, using bobby pins to secure.
- Repeat step 4 over for your whole head and allow your hair to completely dry.
- Once dried, remove the bobby pins and style your hair using hair spray if necessary.
Pro tip: If you are after tighter curls, use smaller sections of hair or larger sections if you are after looser waves.
2. Clip it!
This method is the perfect way to get glamorous hollywood inspired waves without heath. We absolutely love this look for everyday wear or special events.
- Start with semi wet hair (approximately 1/3 - 1/2 dry).
- Section your head into two parts, lower section tied away.
- Parting your hair where comfortable, take 1 - 1.5 inch sections of hair and curl around your index and middle finger to create a barrel shape.
- Using ZALA sectioning clips, clip this section against your head to secure its shape.
- Repeat step 4 for the entire upper section of your hair. Once complete, move onto the lower section.
- Let your hair dry completely.
- Once dry, remove each clip and very gently brush through the curls to combine them. Use hairspray if necessary.
- Voila! You have sophisticated Hollywood waves.
3. Plaits
Plaits are the ultimate no fuss way to get heatless waves and create a natural beach inspired texture in the hair.
- Start with semi damp hair (you can use this method on dry hair for more subtle results).
- Taking four even sections of hair, plait your hair four times - remember the tighter your plaits, the tighter the waves.
- Allow your hair to dry completely (we love doing this overnight for convenience).
- Remove the plaits once dry and style to suit.
