How To Add Volume By Air-Drying
Air-drying doesn't just make amazing hairstyles, it also lessens the chance of damaging your hair. If you've got time, there's literally no reason to pick blowdrying over this method.
To help you out, here are some tips to add volume by air-drying your hair!
Use dry shampoo
If you're in a rush and don't have the time to wash your hair, you can use dry shampoo to prevent your strands from looking matted and greasy. Dry shampoo instantly lifts your strands, giving them a lighter and non-oily appearance.
Most of the time, you don't need to do anything else if you've already used dry shampoo, as this product is usually already volumising enough.
Sleep on it
This may seem like an unconventional method, but believe us, it totally works.
Try washing your hair an hour or two before going to bed tonight. Make sure to towel dry it until it's no longer damp, and then apply some of your favorite leave-in conditioner. Run your fingers through your strands a couple of times. When you wake up in the morning, just scrunch your hair a bit and you'll be good to go!
Volumising hairspray is key
Hairsprays aren't just for keeping your hair in place – you can also use them to add volume to your air-dried hair.
Simply flip your hair down and shake your strands around. Flip your hair back up and then spray some volumising hairspray about a foot away from your head. You can keep on alternating between spraying your hair with the spray and scrunching it to add more volume. Remember to let the spray dry before you move on to the next section.
If you can't find any volumising hairspray, you can also use any regular hairspray, except stronghold ones since these will only harden your strands.
Try a hydrating mousse
Aiming for big, beachy waves but don't have the volume for it? Try a hydrating mousse! You should apply it as soon as you finish towel-drying your hair after getting out of the shower. Make sure that your is still a bit damp, as it works best that way.
The trick here is to pull your hair into a bun and then let it fully dry that way. Once you let your hair down, you'll see your beach waves in an instant!
Use thickening spray for fine hair
If it isn't obvious, those with fine hair usually find it harder to add volume to their strands. Don't worry though, you've got thickening spray to the rescue! Simply spritz on a few sprays to your strands and shake them around until you get your desired volume.
Additional tip: you can also use sea salt sprays to add more texture to your fine hair. This, in addition to the thickening spray, will ensure that your hair is volumised in no time at all.
Of course, if you're really in a hurry and can't find the time to add volume by air-drying hair, you can always just use our high-quality hair extensions! Did you say thick, gorgeous locks? You got it!
